RT Electric, Inc. founded by Robert Tegmeyer in 1976 in a garage with two employees, has now become a full-service design/build electrical contracting company. Having served the Las Cruces, El Paso and surrounding areas for over 30 years we are licensed in four states with the ability to serve customers in a large geographic area. As for experience, our journeymen electricians combined, account for well over 200 years experience.

Company founder, Robert Tegmeyer and President, Kevin Tegmeyer were key catalysts in developing a local chapter of the IEC (Independent Electrical Contractors Association) in 1990. As proud members since its inception, we have demonstrated our commitment to excellence through education.

As commitment to quality and safety, all of our electricians go through a rigorous 4-year Apprentice Training Program to become Journeymen Electricians. Our experienced personnel allow us to complete both small and large-scale projects efficiently. RT Electric, Inc. promotes continuing education for its Journeymen Electricians to ensure they are kept abreast of current technology and advancements in the electrical industry.

In 2003, the founder of our company, Robert Tegmeyer passed away, ending an era. He will be forever missed as a mentor and a dear friend. With Roberts son Kevin Tegmeyer, daughter Karen Coleman and their management staff, RT Electric, Inc. lives on.

Today, we employ over 100 full-time employees and offer six separate divisions to better suit your needs: Construction, Service, Traffic Signalization and Street Lighting, Petroleum, Home and Business Audio and Video and Thermal Imaging. In 2005 through these six divisions, the company grossed over 10 million in sales.
